Foley sound project

Foley Sounds

For the first Foley sound that I am doing I have a clip from red dead redemption 2 which is the main character walking through snow. However on the game itself there is no sound of snow. Therefore I will be making the sound of snow by putting salt in a bowl and pressing down on it with my fist.

The part of the video that I am using will start at 1:10 and will continue until 1:27. 

For the second sound I will also be using a clip from red dead redemption 2. The video is of a horse race. I will be using a tea towel to recreate the sound of that horse galloping. On the video the part that I am choosing will begin at 0:32 and end at 1:15.

 Editing Process

For the video itself I used Davinci resolve to add the sounds to the videos and help complete the project. The software itself was pretty straight forward as it was very similar to premiere pro with the whole drag and drop system of the media that you have imported where the videos go at the stop and sound goes at the bottom.


Sound Recording 

In order to gather the sounds I used an app on my phone called voice recorder. This picked up the sounds what I made clearly. It was also a quick and simple process to transfer the sounds and put them onto Davinci Resolve
